Before Being: November 21, 2008 (1825Hrs)

Dear Sweet Strawberry Jam,

Your Mamilou will be leaving for Bohol tomorrow - I hope she gets all the rest and relaxation she deserves. On top of that, I hope her trip will be safe.

On a happier note, your Daddy called earlier today 11ooHrs - he said he was calling via satellite because they haven't docked yet. Let's check out if he has any e-mail for us... wooh! ;)

Love, Mimi

THE NATIVITY By Screen Australia: 4 STARS

This was the title suggested to us by the DVD stall owner, she told us that it was good for kids, kids-at-heart, and kids who like singing. I guess you and I fit quite well in both categories.

It was a heart-warming, feel-good mish mash of drama and comedy which says true for any tasking school production. And there it was, a Christmas school production at Saint Bernadette's, a school whose reputation was only just. Not only that, they have to vie against another prominent school whose Nativity production every year has collected five stars from the local paper review.

As an eternal admirer of anything that is theatrical, I found it to be an exciting journey of washed out stage actor who decided to teach. It was his girlfriend, also a former stage actor, who taught him the love for Christmas. But then she had to move on to Hollywood to work, they had to break up and he had to be left by himself, sulking and hating everything that has to do with Christmas.

Now here's where it starts, it's the Headmistress' last year and if not for which, he wouldn't have acquiesced to handle anymore flop that happens every year. I like the Headmistress. She also happens to play Aunt Marge in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. Sorry I had to bring that up. Harry Potter fan here.

What twists it around than was necessary is the fact that the Teacher Aide has run around with the news that certain Hollywood producers would come and visit Saint Bernadette's to cover the very production. But that didn't happen even if the teacher with two little tots who were to portray Mary and Joseph joined him in a trip to Tinsel Town to convince them to watch the show. I mean it didn't happen as they would have expected it but the girlfriend and one of the producers came to watch it incognito.

As an eternal lover of anything that has a trilling high-pitched voiced, anything that moves with all the colors, and anything that makes you wiggle and dance in your seat, it was a show for you as well.

I give this movie four stars for original music and cuteness factor.

DAY 229: November 21, 2010; SUNDAY

240 (and then some)
Days of "Strawberry Jam" without "J"

Dear Jam,

It was hot on our way back home from Kauswagan but we had to brave the heat because it was worse hanging out where ventilation is not conducive for your present health. Besides, we had a long day ahead of us, visitors arriving and a basket -full of laundry. So it was a little early when we went home, we took the time to take in the feeling of morning that contrary to Mamilou's advice of hailing a taxi for us, we took a jeep. It was only through this communal transportation that we get to appreciate reality at its finest.

We rode the front passengers seat and saw

people bustling in their Sunday's best amongst a crowd of parked vehicles. We passed by the Sacred Heart Parish at RER and saw the improvisation they've had since the Sunday we last drove past, they now have a stall that sells Philippine rice cakes we aptly call "kakanin". That would be a lovely thing to welcome church goers early morning, come the Simbang Gabi this December. There is this one church that we also passed by, one I have been hoping to bring you where its park boasts the grandiose fountain in this city, that should be the Cathedral. I tried to take a shot of it but the jeep was moving and everything else wasn't cooperating but I had to try anyway. I wanted to show you the fountain, being a great fan of anything aqueous and knowing that it has been a source of joy for kids of all ages since before my time, I bet it will be a source of yours, too.

Your cough is a little bit better but then again not better
altogether so it's still a travail. So when we got home, I made sure I tucked you for an early siesta before proceeding to do my chores. However, checking back on you one time, I found that you were in an unlikely position. You were sleeping folded over but when I pulled you out of it, I found streaks of expelled milk mixed with mucous. I had deduced that you may have been crying as you are wont when I am out of sight and as you are wont for such wont, you cried until you disgorged your innards. This is where I shook my head and thought that you really weren't getting any better. I took your favorite Hello Kitty now spew-stained comforter to the washing, which I am sure would involve your inquiry later on.

We took a little time to wait for our guests as it may have taken
them a little time to get to us.
So while biding our time, we played and cuddled and I listened to you say the word "tose" for close to tell me that I needed to do just that to the bathroom door after bathing. Then there you were with the table towel, doing with it just as it was intended for, to wipe the table. We then headed out to take on the challenge of what the sunset left for us and took lots of pictures that though you looked
exhausted by cough, you didn't fall short of a pose for the camera. You were quite the model, following my every instruction. When I said 'look up' you did so just as you did with 'look straight at the camera' and then'cute eyes'. *sigh* You are precious.

But what fun it was when your godsister Angel visited with N
inang Mayang, Tita Sheena and their Mamilola, too. The two of you were just nonstop with each other and I had thought that you were one for all the mischief in the world until I saw Angel's antics. Amongst numerous books that I gave the two of you, you argued on one; amongst the many stuffed animals, you war-tugged on Bucky and among everything else to do, neither one of you would warm up to each other. To Ninang Mayang's prodding however, Angel made the effort to hug and kiss you but being the reluctant and suspicious cat that you are, the bait didn't reel you in. She tried to offer you every pair of shoe she found in your collection but you still gave her the cold reception that's why she went ahead and tried one for size. I think that was a good idea for me though so I could see if you and Angel have the same shoe size, you know? I'm just thinking of Christmas gift options, Angel is my goddaughter after all. When it came down to being the alpha child, it was Angel and you, the observant one took one blow from the book that she accidentally threw to your direction. It was because of this the photo opportunity with their family had you right on Tita Sheena's lap bawling like there's no tomorrow.

I took all of these in and didn't complain or fuss because I know
that it was all child's play and I trusted your Ninang Mayang's preaching on her daughter. We just kept telling the two of you quite jokingly that your Moms have been great friends since college and that shouldn't change even down with the both of you. I just had a bit of fun watching you really from the misbehaved Kitten I always saw you to be, here you were, helpless and shaken in your own little house. Hahaha! It was all good. The siomai from their Mamilola was the best though. We had a little sampling from the business that they have and I was chosen to help advertise it via blog and photography. we also went through the important details for Tita Sheena's upcoming debut, which I will be organizing. Weeh! The first time since the last! This should be exciting! ;)

Later, as it rained harder from when it started late afternoon, Ninang Hazel arrived with all the hush after I warned her that you were sick and asleep. She brought in a couple of friends from her church and had a prayer over us. Too bad, you know? It was supposed to be a bible study. It has been a pending activity we have agreed to do but time was running out for her since she they had to proceed to hear mass after that. I am so happy that they did though. I felt even more blessed as they prayed for all of us there in the room, for you and me, and then for Daddy. Aww*** That's so sweet that the
pastor included Daddy. The pastor is by the way an schoolmate from college. The world is small, indeed!

Speaking of Daddy, he texted earlier and said that he had copied some of our new pictures so he can view it on board. He said that he only got to chat with Nohnong Van - I would have loved to chat with him! *sigh*

In the evening as there was only you and I, we huddled in bed and
looked at your Hello Kitty comforter dry indoors. I was wondering what you were referring to as you said "yawers" (flowers), "fy" (butterfly or fly), and "Meemeen". Then here, I saw the big pink blanket in front of us, which you insisted to be taken down saying it was "ooh-dah" or "uga" as the correct Visayan for dry. I did take it down for you and thank God it really was "ooh-dah" because you snuggled in it as soon as you had it.

I was a bit thrown off when I saw that you grew one white hair. Upon close inspection, I realized that

it was nothing more than a gold strand. It's only safe to say that you got it from me as I have this huge spread of light brown to natural blonde over at my right temple. Heeheehee

JAMantic of the Day:
You have this thing going on and I don't know where you got it but before you want to say something, you tease me with "Uhmm uhmm uhmm..." and then the word. It's as if you are thinking of what to say or else teasing me so I would wait for what you would say.

I am also proud that you have today, composed your very first song with the clear lyrics of "I gotta Mommy Mommy Mommy." It was only that line but as it finished, you continued to hum the tune and wriggled to it. Aww*** thank you Baby.

Your MAYmah,

DAY 230: November 20, 2010; SATURDAY

241 (and then some)
Days of "Strawberry Jam" without "J"

Dear Jam,

We played the matching game today and thanks to our beloved sponsor, we are rocking eye-soothing orange shirts from OLD NAVY. Yours had a print of the peach fruit where it says "I'm just Peachy" ain't you the one? And mine has all that fancy, shining beads collectively designed as a big heart. You love the fancy decoration, taking the time to feel them with your hands, going over them with your eyes.

I am a little worried about you today, the cough that we were slightly worried about yesterday has suddenly taken a bark that tells us your cough couldn't be any more real. We just had to drop by the drugstore to buy the prescriptions from Ninang Dockie Nathalie. Thank God for Ninangs! She told me to grab some Salbutamol, which should be handy for a sort of cough and an antihestamine. If everything doesn't go well after three days on these, we should proceed with Cefalexin. I am having second thoughts of telling Daddy. I just don't want to sensationalize something that may only just be a peeve for work.

Cute that however you are barking outwardly and groaning inwardly in your lungs, you never forgot your fashion forwardness and how you insist on your own style. I suggested that you wore the slippers with orange flowers so it would match your shirt. BUT! But you took your loud pink Crocs slip-on and until you wore your sunglasses, I couldn't have understood your choice. It was when you wore both shoes and glasses that I saw the whole picture - their colors matched! What is even sweeter met me at the doorstep on our way out. You know, those slip-on Crocs were always stored in a plastic bag because we always brought it with us as spare. We had to put it in our bag and so wrapped it in a separate plastic to avoid grits under it from falling into other stuff. Cute that when I was looking for my shoes, my eyes fell upon the very plastic where now another pair of slipper was placed in the stead of the one you were wearing. Then you were gesturing me to put the plastic in my back so you can have spare slippers. This is the reason why this picture is significant; it shows your ingenuity of replacing a pair of slippers for another, the slipper you could have been wearing but you just would not and Mommy's own sandals from Antilo. Lovely!

You will have to forgive me someday for this but...(screaming at the top of my lungs now) I WATCHED HARRY POTTER! I just couldn't help it. Last night's partial viewing was just driving me crazy. As a Harry Potter fan, that's not a good thing. So there but I made sure that I locked our budget down. We didn't have spare for my vice so I asked Mamilou to sponsor since we had to spend a lot for your medicine. Then I went around the city to look for a theater where I can view it over and again since every cinema seemed keen to stick to the "GUARANTEED SEATS" Policy. It turned out that everywhere I went, it was the case, due to Warner Brother's order. There are parts, which aren't suitable for you so I am just glad that you didn't get to watch it on DVD. Nagini, that huge snake of Voldemort's move to close-up on the camera in a swift movement wasn't half of the startling things you get to see from the movie.

I let Nahnang watch over the cafe while I was away, where she waited for me to discuss about the movie, just like any two typical Harry Potter fan. We have also agreed to start on our own blogging, which has been pending for sometime, seeing as I have more time to do it that I am now at present with "365 Days of Strawberry Jam". We call it "The Misadventures of Yin and Yang" from the sketch we imagined to create long ago. Speaking of our blog, I was met with a pleasant surprise from Antilo who viewed our DAY 232 entry. She said that it was "precious". It's amazing, like a stage play getting a good review from a sponsor. Cheers! Another thing to celebrate about is Nahnang's and my picture with D'Crammerz, which was chosen for MORE BITES Pizza "Group of the Month" Contest. The picture with the most votes gets pizza! Nom nom nom!

So where were you? I left you in the care of Mamilou and Lolo. They were more than happy to do so.

ACCORDING TO MAMILOU:
You have a cute and funny way of saying everybody's first names. Accordingly,
ARMAN (Lolo) > Ah-man
JUAN (Papalo) > Ooh-wan
HELEN(Mamala) > Eh-len
NENNEN(Mamilou) > En-nen
YENYEN(Mommy) > En-ynen
JUMBO (Daddy) > Joo-booh
JOHN BORG (Nohnong) > Jan-booh
WALLY (Nohnong) > Ah-wee
JAIJAI (Nahnang) > Dah-dai
(Mommy laughs hard here)
Reportedly, Mamilou says that you also asked her to pose for you. You were like me, the makeup artist, combing Mamilou's hair and prepping her for the shoot and as the photographer, you told her how to pose, how to hold her chin up with her hand. Just like what you did to me a couple of days ago, right? She also said that you've been picking up Tagalog quite well from Papalo and Mamala. Earlier when you were bored with the magazines, you grabbed page after page and crumpled them in your hands then giving them to Mamilou, you said "Tapon!"

When Nahnang and I arrived in Kauswagan, it was apparent that you had a great time with Mamilou and Lolo, truer for the latter. You were in his little bunk and though you had been informed of my arrival, you couldn't be uprooted. I found out that you enjoyed playing with him, jumping and thumping on his bed. You were later on convinced to come out to find that we had brought the colorful puto with us for your late night snack. You were a sight to watch, standing on the table with all there is to feast, where you are the most visually palatable of all.

Turning in for the night, we bunked with Nahnang and played for a while. As usual, you didn't want to sleep on schedule. We gave you a couple of things to busy yourself with and it was an empty box that you came upon to play pretend with as if it were a makeup box full of colors. You opened it up infront of me and like I would do it to my models, you whipped up some makeup from the pallet and on to my face. When I asked Nahnang to take a picture of you doing it, you gave her a dose of what was supposed to be a cute pose. This is the reason for that silly little smirk that you have in this picture.

JAMantic of the Day:
This isn't new as you have been doing this for almost a week but it was today that Mamilou and everyone else seemed to notice how you pound your feet when in comes a tune, joined by the melodious clicking of your tongue as you go with the music. My daughter, the young musician.

Your MAYmah,

DAY 231: November 19, 2010; FRIDAY

242 (and then some)
Days of "Strawberry Jam" without "J"

Dear Jam,

We got a text message from Daddy, letting us know that they will be in Finland for three days. *sigh* It's fun how he gets to travel around the world, isn't it? Someday, I would like you and I to travel as well. Around the world, if we are permitted.

Anyway, thanks to Antilo's subscription to magazines and catalogs in New Jersey, we get to feel that we are elsewhere. We also get to be a part of something else from somewhere else. In your case, you get to be oriented to new pictures and the words
associated to them. Id est, "bad" for bag, which you told apart from shoes, you also learned the new word "eewin" for earring and spotted it as soon as we turned over to other pages, the word "up-up" for makeup as you saw that the brushes and makeup in the catalog looked like the ones we have. Thanks to MARK Avon catalog too, I get to leave you to it while I am doing my chores. When I came to check you once in a while, I would see you still immersed in viewing the catalog, muttering as you went. I had the chance to catch a line which may have meant that 'wearing lipstick entails going out of the house' or according to you "Mommy eestik buh-bye!"

Kitten, I cannot help it but I am patting my back about it anyhow.
Here is another ergonomic innovation I have discovered today and this is to save power and gas utilization. So instead of slow cooking soup and heating yesterday's rice separately, I have decided to put them on top of each other. Applying the basic fact that each pot conducts heat well, thus the ease for distribution of the power. I am glad that because of this, it took only twenty minutes to cook the chicken and another five minutes on top of that to heat the soup and rice altogether. It also lessened the hassle for me to check on two different chores separately. Voila! Sumptuous lunch for you and me!

We went out earlier before work so that we can do a couple of
things. We took a little tricycle ride where I allowed you to sit beside me, away from my lap and quite independently. You had a couple of minutes to get the feel of everything but I think it was the sensation of the plastic covering of the seat against your skin and the vibration from the motor shaking your innards that made you change your mind. You soon nudged me to get you back on my lap. I couldn't complain as I feel that to be a sweet gesture, knowing that though you are quite grown, you are still my precious baby. We took the cab to the DVD avenue to buy three titles for our movie night tonight! We bought (to my surprise but later on disappointment) Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1, Shrek The Final Chapter the last of the Shrek installment, and The Nativity, of which production is unknown to me but as it was recommended to be theatrical for yours and my taste, we took it.

From there, we went to SAVEMORE Supermarket to buy important
supplies for you and for our stores. Here's a picture of you going over the brochure they gave for free at the counter. You were quite the helper when we got home, you helped me place the supplies to their rightful places. We were lucky at the supermarket, Love, for having bought something off a grand, we had the opportunity to roll a ball over choices of free prizes. And there I was, inwardly hoping that we would get the green bag where we can put our grocery together to help lessen the hassle. Here! Here! Ask and ye shall be given, so God doeth sayeth!

But before we even got home, we took a little time more in Lapasan
because Nohnong had almost forgotten to fetch us. Mamala was already fretting, afraid what might have happened, which was only because Nohnong fell asleep. He must have been tired from basketball so it was nothing to worry about albeit it was almost midnight. We had you to entertain us anyway with your dancing, with your smile, your posing, which finally became clear to me as Mamala explained. I asked her how these past couple of days you have been posing with your hands held up with fingers twisted to the camera. She said you were making the "peace" sign. Hahah! Oh! Rolling like Daddy, huh?
You were precious and you were a good girl the whole day. And every good little girl deserves a reward and for you, your first mini chocolate chip cookies! Not that you haven't tried chocolate chip cookies but these mini-sized variants are just the - cookie...? Heheh!

JAMovie: Shrek The Final Chapter (Image credits to copyright owner)
Now, I have to start with how (all caps to be clear about this) DISAPPOINTED I AM with the Harry Potter and Deathly Hallows Part 1 DVD that we bought. I knew there was something fishy about it, it was too good to be true in clear DVD and audible surround sound! So yes, we watched it for a while. You even relished the moment of me sobbing and gagging at my own tears as I went into a meltdown, seeing HEDWIG fall and die for protecting HARRY and HAGRID. You cried with me as you did the night we were having the cryfest over RAMONA and BEEZUS, sobbing and tripping on tears, hugging each other like it was the end of all the happiness in the world. Then as the tension was mounting, RON, HARRY and HERMIONE apparates from Bill and Fleur's wedding into modern day London, comes blackout and nil. Imagine my frustration!

So that's how SHREK came to be. And I am not disappointed to have it assuage me from being aggravated by that Harry Potter fib! That bluff! Pffft! Anyway. Perhaps, this sequel is the best in the Shrek installment yet, I think even better than the first because this is where everything comes in full circle! This is where Shrek realizes the significance of Fiona's love for him. Sorry, your mom could be such a sap. Yeah, I was crying again as you may have guessed. Go figure why as I explain. Shrek comes to a point in his life where he gets fed up with the everyday humdrum that has become his married life and having to father three and to be a friend of many as any ogre wouldn't be. He felt trapped and tired, becoming a sideshow attraction rather than being the ogre who used to draw fear from every villager. Enters Rumpelstiltskin who is popular in another fairytale, which you aren't supposed to hear until you're grown enough to understand why, who offers Shrek a magical contract that will grant him a day to be the old ogre that he loved himself to be. The consequence was, as any change is hardly detached from, and little to his knowing that everything he knew was no longer the same . All in all, he had to save the love of his life, his best friend and all of FAR FAR AWAY. Well, this goes without saying that we wouldn't know what we have until we lose them, so Shrek says and as the popular saying goes. For the most part, you enjoyed it because of Puss who became Puss in Flab from the original Puss in Boots. You kept screaming "MEEMEEN!" whenever he came up.

JAMantic of the Day:
The word "doon" must be something you picked up from Mamala or Papalo as they are wont to either speak Tagalog or Ivatan than Visayan. It's your best antic today because early in the morning, you ordered me "Doon! Ears!" telling me where I kept the earpick so I can get it and give your ears the digging you most delighted in! To note, we are all collectively worried that this pretend cough may just be serious. I hope not though.

Your MAYmah,

Before Being: November 18, 2008 (2010Hrs)

Dear Strawberry Jam,

I have to say that the winner in America's Next Top Model Cycle 5 would have to be the weakest personality since Cycle 1. She just doesn't have that "edge" they're usually talking about. She's just a pretty face. That's it!

Well when you get our, you're something new to talk about. Antilo wrote me a beautiful letter and I'm going to let you read it someday.

Love,

Mimi

DAY 232: November 18, 2010; THURSDAY

243 (and then some)
Days of "Strawberry Jam" without "J"

Dear Jam,

We are just exhausted, you and I. The heat in Kauswagan is just unbearable, you had to wake up when you would have wanted more time to sleep and I, for the lack of sleep, could just feel the warmth bearing down on me. So as we took a taxi home, we were both groggy and unsteady on our feet. I thank you for being so cooperative, you were such a good girl and gave me no troubles at all.
You were quite alert as soon as you gained balance inside the house where the humidity couldn't reach us. You were eager to repeat after me during wash time in the bathroom when I said "Atubang" which means "Face front!" in Visayan. You almost got it with your "Atbang", which in fact is another Visayan word that means "front" - not bad, it's similar in a way. You also finally spoke the word "push". Perfectly. You were pushing my leg away from a spot where you wanted nothing but yourself to occupy. Why? Because you were busy going over your clothes again.

It wasn't until we got home that we actually got to go over our parcel from Antilo. You were such a joy to watch! You took out your new clothes from the folded pile I have set aside only to fold them yourself, your own way. Then your proceeded to line up your Baby wash bottles up to see how they look like together. Are we excited to try them? I am excited to try AVON's Kid's Punch Bubble Bath. It looks so yummy, doesn't it? Then you and I relished the scent that clings to clothes packed with in a box of toiletries and perfumes. It was your idea, smelling your dresses, making that look of heavenly satisfaction and then told me "Mommy, abol". You gestured for me to wrap it around myself as a blanket then we both took in the pleasant scent of flowers, fruits, and candies. My word, were you were eager to put the toothpaste in and out of it's box. I just find it so amusing with all the facial expression that you have, I feel like it's a struggle for you and a challenge that must be had! You were just giving the box and the toothpaste the "ggr!" Hahaha! You and I have just been acquainted to NI HAO, a Nick Jr. character from Nickelodeon, which may be, according to Nahnang a distant Chinese relative of DORA The EXPLORER, coming from the same network. I just have to say that your Antilo has a fine taste in fashion. It runs in the blood, so it shouldn't be a shock why you are so good with mixing-and-matching.

Before we left for work, you did some remarkable and unforgettable antics. One was with the cabinet. It was more of a reaction than antic really. I just hope I don't have to blame SPIRITS OF THE FOREST for this. I was turning the TV off when I felt you cling at me, running away from the cabinet. Looking at it, you said "Hawa! Ssh! Hawa!". I was puzzling at the same time mildly terrified, looking at the window and deduced that you may have seen something. When my eyes finally fell on the culprit, I realized that the cabinet was gaping ajar with the bag full of makeup. I laughed, to realize that I hadn't closed it properly with the bag tumbling down, pushing the unclosed door open - like a phantom would, as you may have thought it. I explained to you that it was nothing. When you understood it, you braved to pry the door open and perhaps overcame the fear encouraged by that little happenchance.

The other one is how you managed to balance my phone on the table. You were so happy, everytime you were succesful, you cheered yourself. Now I applaud you too because I also consider it to be an achievement. My phone is tricky without a flat bottom and how you managed to put it up is a feat in itself! Good Job Pumpkin! ;)

Surprise upon surprise was waiting for you at the FoodHauz. Mamala bought you new sets...yes, sets of toys! You have a kitchen set, a cat bowling set (which is cute because the pinheads are of Bast's, the Egyptian Cat God who protects the Underworld), and a sandcastle-shovel set. Damn! You are spoiled aren't you? In one week, you get Mamilou, Antilo and Mamala to give you presents! But the good thing is, you didn't ask for them. Yet. I hope this wouldn't prove to be a problem when you're big enough to realize that they would obey your every whim with the snap of your fingers. Now that's when I will impose, you can count on that, sweetheart! ;)

ACCORDING TO MAMALA:
When you were playing with your kitchen set, you said "Cook". Then taking the ball from your bowling set, into the pan of your little kitchen, you said "Cook edd". Hahaha! Genius! Cook egg!

I am so happy when I went online, love. I felt the love from your Ninang Mayang when she praised me for this blog. She said that it is a testimony of my love for you and Daddy. For other people to see that, is like being understood from the heart. She has, like other friends, seen that this blog wasn't for my own popularity after all but to prove my love. Then there was Tito Jim's cheerful comment on one of our previous entries. He left two comments and one said that he had thought that strawberry, as a fruit, was sweet until he tasted them. I told him that this is the very reason why I was nicknamed "Strawberry" in Elementary. I had been mistaken for my sweet and simple looks until they had a taste of who I really was. But then they have missed out on the fact that though sour, strawberries prove to be very good to the health, what with the Vitamin C and antioxidants it provides. Exactly my point, Mommy is so "Strawberry!" *wink *wink

We were so amazed and amused when on our way home, waiting for Nohnong to finish closing the cafe, you looked out of the cab and into a group of guys drinking. You told them "Saba!" Whoa! Touchy! Hahah! It's a good thing those guys in the neighborhood have become our regular customers then friends, they didn't take offense when you shut them up.

Coming home, you were so eager to go over your clothes again. You attempted to wear it over your head saying "Mommy desh. Yes?" No. No to "desh" because you and I weren't going anywhere but at home to rest and to watch RAMONA and BEEZUS. It's a feel good movie and was good enough for you and I. Too good in fact we had a little cryfest. I thought you wouldn't catch me crying over the sisters Ramona and Beezus who just lost their cat, thereupon realizing the importance of life and everything mushy. You joined me in the cry fest but this time, you forced yourself to cry. Quite convincing you were, just like a movie star! You even hugged me! Suddenly, my tears dried up only to be beaten by what seemed your never ending tears.

I must admit the movie is rather tear-inducing. It follows the story of a girl named Ramona who has by chance, named her sister Beatrice, Beezus. Cute how that happens in real life. Like Nahnang's "Jaijai" was supposed to be "Gelgel" but your Uncle Neil couldn't pronounce "l" thus "Jaijai". So that's what happened to Beezus, whose sister was a troublemaker unlike herself. I do have to comment that they could have just at least named it RAMONA since it largely focused on the misadventures of the little girl. She had such an imagination, a character about her, which I can relate to because when I was her age, I often escaped with my imagination. Even until now. Her parents do remind me of Mamilou when she scolded me for running away from reality. What adults don't understand is that, this is a means for coping or defense mechanism. I would understand had you one rich imagination for it is quite helpful for creativity, should you need it in later life. That is why, thanks to mine, I am rather apt in the arts.

Anyway, so Ramona makes the cutest of facial expressions, I can just imagine you when you will be her age. Even now as you aren't two years old yet, you make quite the theatrics. Like when I put the DVD on, and the 20th CENTURY FOX logo was up in the screen with it's theme song, you hummed along with it as you raised your hands like you were Charice Pempengco in concert. As I clap you on the back for that, I clap myself on the back for innovating on our late night snack! From an ordinary tuna sandwich, I added crisp and flavor to it with a cracker of ONION CHIVES flavor. You loved it so much, finished more that I had expected you to consume. I'll take that as a compliment!

JAMantic of the Day:
Coming home, the residence dogs were waiting for us by the gate, like the previous nights. The other day you called them, saying "Side! Dob Side!" to get them inside. Tonight, you told them to sit. "Sit! Dob sit!" Hahahah! Did they obey? No. I don't think they heard your voice but nice try though. There is always a next time.

Your Mommy,
