DAY 217: December 3, 2010; FRIDAY

228 (and then some)
Days of "Strawberry Jam" without "J"

Dear Jam,

No photoshoot of mine would ever be complete without you modeling for me. Thank you for being so helpful. Here you are being the first to take the challenge of our "EmpoWORD" shoot, a photo campaign sought to target bullying of all forms. This idea isn't original but it is an innovation from America's Next Top Model Cycle 15 where they had to don words the models were taunted with, where they are squeezed against words that take the bully words to similar and yet empowering words to the person. Thus Empower + WORD. I say innovation because unlike ANTM, I am working with people who are learning how to model while I am learning how to be a photographer and a director. And we are joined by no less than our dear D'Crammerz. I have to admit, I rather have a soft spot for these kids even as Nahnang is part of them or even if not. If you ask why, well, I was at it again. I can't seem to stave off my thirst for perfection recently. If
not that then at least my insatiable thirst for punctuality. Maybe it's good for business but D'Crammerz are neither our clients nor hires, they are friends, whom we invited for an experimental shoot so that's what I reminded myself that finally calmed me down later on when they arrived. Anyway, when they arrived we were all fine and dandy. And as much as I would have wanted to stay around and wait for the others to arrive, we had to rush to duty. We were already late as it is. The rain was a blessing in disguise because I had an alibi to stay longer and hang out with D'Crammerz. You had a great time with them as it seems. You give in to their inviting nature that I didn't see you complain anymore being separated from me as I took photos.

Today is also the opening day of the new branch of Kathryn's Bakeshoppe near our place. I just love their bread. Daddy, you and I do. When the jeep we fared passed by the crowd of people bustling against a bunch of standing bouquets, I knew it was the grand opening after the long wait. I overheard a man talking to his wife that the bread and pastry place was giving away s
ome freebies for the first one hundred customers. Wow! But no. We didn't give in to the temptation, we drove past and headed off to work where I saw Antilo's reaction on one of our posts. I was happy to see that she could have the time to browse despite her hectic schedule although what we mainly discussed wasn't a happy news. After that, I took the time to edit and post the long-pending pictures of USA Products we were supposed to sell. Thanks to Antilo for that again! I said there that the proceeds would help fund our trip to Manila for Ninang Majal's wedding.

Speaking of Ninang Majal, I tried to ask if it was still possible that another child in your behalf could march the aisle as one of the flower bearers. But she said that though the gowns took time to make, your name was already in the invitation, not to mention their wedding blog, so it was a little near impossible. I didn't want to really but this thing with having to budget for the rent, the food, the debts and everything else leads me to think that perhaps we should cut down somewhere. There was nowhere else I could think of but our tickets to Manila. Being that you are going with me, I have to cut back on Nahnang's so she may not be coming with us. Don't get me wrong Love, you aren't a bother although I very much expect and anticipate the worst of your tantrums there anytime but that isn't the reason why I had entertained the thought. It's just a little bit of money matters really that's all. But I am even happier that we get to take our adventures in "365 Days of Strawberry Jam" to Manila with Ninang Majal and Charissa! Weeeh! So this means if I am going to "paint the town red" with them, it will be one step of a rogue tagging you along! ;)

I am so happy with how technology allows me to be with loved ones where I get to share to them what I also love and in return they could show some love. What am I talking about? Actually it's more of a WHO am I talking about? First, there is my beloved teacher Mrs. Arnejo who not only took the time to be a fan of our page but also showed some extra warm fuzzy by posting a picture that says "Hello Beautiful!"Second, there was Tita Mia who after reading the entry where she and my Nursing friends were mentioned said some rather nice words. Mostly for me though. Heheh! I am so happy to hear from them and to see their response.

We slept over in Kauswagan as is usually my wont after a shoot so that I could edit the pictures for today. I was discouraged that we met the barangay in blackout before we could even reach the landmark gas station. I had been discouraged earlier not only because the models were late but because my follow spot fell and broke, so I had to make do with the only light coming from the camera - the flash. It was all great and ready when we had the test shot you and I but I accidentally moved the chair with the light was placed rather awkwardly. So there we were in the dimness of Kauswagan, thinking that I may never get to edit and that you may never get some air to cool off your already sweating head. I was exaggerating of course because after 45 minutes, the electricity came back on.

JAMantic of the Day:
So you know how to say "over there" or "ovehdeh" more specifically, even remembering where we we stowed your bubble toy away and that was awhile back already. Well, what can I say, your memory is quite good. You can now actually rely on your memory to associate the right words for the pictures. This is just what happened when you played Alphabet flash cards with Mamilou and Nahnang. Although it takes sometime for you to recall it, you manage to stir your mental stores. Among others that you were often familiar with, you now know "juice", "wose" (rose), "watch" and "yacht".

Your Mommy,
