Milestone Memoir 2009

September 4, 2009

Dear Baby Kitten,

We went early to bed last night so I woke up to the feeling of hunger this early; its 0100 Hrs (1AM). This is the consequence of breast feeding and why I can't entirely go back to my diet. But I feel like I lost weight these past few weeks. I just haven't checked. I was going to write on the 2nd to tell you that we went to SM after my OJT to do the grocery with Mamilou and Ate Jocel. Yo wore your new set of clothes; top and pants, which Mamilou reported to have captured in her still camera. As I held you in my arms, going down the taxi, you were kicking your feet with the excitement, adding your little shrieks of anticipation as we moved towards the door. You even danced to Woder Girl's (that Korean girl group)"Nobody, Nobody" and rode the grocery cart (sitting on a biscuit basket). You were so exhausted that you slept on our way home.

Earlier today, I gave in to Mamilou's litany of cutting the edge of your hair, which are falling over your face. You find it irritable to your eyes that you would rub it until it would go red. I refused before, saying that it would grow back anyway and that it would eventually get to that length. But seeing that growth is slow, I gave in and now you just look like that 3D animated version of Tinkerbell, which I was so fascinated with being pregnant with you. I also went with the popular (old wife's) belief of keeping the locks of hair in the middle of the book so that it could...err...what's the perfect word (?)...enhance (?)...help (?)...make (?) a child intelligent. What have you? Mamilou kept mine and Ninang's in an encyclopedia. You see, I kind of feel the effectiveness of the err...spell (?)...ritual(?). Because I have to admit that I am rather...err...quite good at some aspects AND so is your cousin, Ate Mae Anne whose mother followed the tradition. Anyway, I am moving yours from a novel, to another book until we graduate to an encyclopedia to see its effect. We won't lose anything of we try it, won't we?

P.S.
I received a text message from Daddy telling me to check my e-mail. Yipee! So excited! I can't wait to see what he sent!

P.P.S

When I came home from OJT, I was surprised to see a make-shift lazy hammock of blanket stretched out in the middle of the room - Mamilou reported how you slept soundly in it.

Love, Mamimeo

DAY 307: September 4th, 2010; SATURDAY

Dear Jam,

We had an early start today.
Before lunch, we were already in Lapasan where I had to prepare myself for the Eight O'Clock Juice Drinks and ABS-CBN Barangayan in Macanhan, Carmen.

I'm very honored to be working this time (again actually, after a hiatus) with an old friend, Stephanie. You know, when she was younger, and even younger than I was Miss Cagayan de Oro, she was crowned Miss Teen Philippines. She represented our city, victorious over the other representatives from the different regions of the country. She's a smart kid and pretty for one. More than that, I admire her mom for being so supportive however discreet at being a stage mother. They're both very lucky to have each other as I am lucky to have you. I am fortunate to have a lovely and smart daughter. In fact,
you just showed me your smarts when in shower, you washed your genital area by yourself. You must have been observing how I do it for you. I ask you to "open" your legs whence I toss an amount of water between it. Today, before I could even get to that part, you went ahead to do the whole routine, unassisted. You gave me a look of success after saying "ibi" (which could be "ipi" from "pipi" or "peepee"). I gave you kudos for it and said "Very good baby Kitten".

JAMantic of the Day:
Using the same smarts, you told your Papalo off for sleeping on the table. For about at least ten times, according to Daddy, you told him "Lolo up! Nanam." which means, "Lolo, get up! That table is for sleeping." Your Lolo enjoyed how you'd do it over again when his successive return to sleep on the table were nothing more than to play with you. You gladly scolded him over again.

Your MAYmah,

DAY 308: September 3rd, 2010; FRIDAY

Dear Jam,

And so laundry day continues!
You were mommy's little helper again today, putting the clothes on the line. It's also good to be out and about in a weather like this, "unforgivingly" hot and humid. So that after hanging the clothes up, we lingered outside for a dry picnic where you finished a bottle of milk under the canopy of grapevine. I left you in the chair after that because I had to handwash Daddy's towel and your Hello Kitty bag. I didn't know that with the heat beating against us, the water running freely from the hose with that whizzing sound, was inviting to you. You kept calling on me "MAMA BABAT!" I indulge your request and allowed you a couple of minutes in your tub while I was finishing the wash.

At breakfast, you had a funny discovery with your appetite for greens. We had ampalaya (sauteed bitter gord) and rice while you had sunny side up. But as you are wont to grab visually palatable dishes, you went ahead and grabbed a chunk of a slice and dunked the whole think into your mouth. Now, it isn't called "bitter" for nothing you know. ;) Daddy and I laughed at how your face changed from curiosity to "bitter" shock. We're not forcing you to like it though, especially one as I who isn't so fond of it either.

It's PART TWO of your orientation to MAKE-UP after your prodding of "Mama me!" when you saw me putting lipstick on. I made a swilling action around your lips as if applying rogue on it and you seemed contented, even putting your lips together before a little pucker. Then I gave you my spare unused brush to practice the brushing strokes I taught you. Just to settle your curiosity, that's all!

We stopped by Kauswagan today to get a couple of things. While you on the other hand, left a beautiful mess for Mamilou and Nahnang to find as evidence of your visit. ;)

JAMantic of the Day:
You surprised me, pleasantly, when we were in the shower. You hid your face and coming out from it, you said "boo!" and it's cute because you just saw that earlier today in Brainy Babies' PEEK-A-BOO video. :D

Milestone Memoir 2009

Dear Baby Kitten,

It's almost 5AM and Mommy hasn't slept yet. I just finished encoding my class notes which I then had to e-mail to my classmates who were asking for it, then I lingered in the internet for a couple of course because I had to research for Uncle Longking's request and of course, to check my Facebook (Twitter and Multiply). Then I had to render a lettering on a classmate's certificate. I feel hyped because I slept longer than usual earlier to make up for the sleepless night, the other night, doing more notes.

Anyway, your growth is more apparent now. Just earlier, in the middle of my calligraphy, you woke up so I had to pick you up in my arms because you were asking me to carry you - only to find out how taller and heavier you are! I just had to squeeze you in tight! SMOTHER!!

This afternoon, I allowed you to crawl below the mattress -that's the floor, I mean. But you can only stay too long because you couldn't endure the hardness - that is, the floor. It was a new feeling for you. What was cute is that after going a couple of all-fours steps, you reached your arms out for want of me to pick you up!

DAY 309: September 2nd, 2010; THURSDAY

Dear Jam,

Daddy left early in the morning to fix the ventilation in the cafe. As I suspected, the doctor diagnoses your Nohnong's symptoms to be an allergic reaction due to suffocation with dust in the cafe. Daddy is putting up an exhaust fan so that the bad air will go out and the good air stays in and about the cafe. But before he left, he stayed with us awhile enough to eat breakfast and time enough to trim his nails. Seeing this and even as you were far from us, you approached Daddy and gave your feet saying "pees". That meant you were asking him to clip your toenails as well, that could have either been "feet" or "please". You were so adorable doing that.

Daddy and I also discussed that on the 7th, being your monthsary, we will have started to measure you up against the wall until you're big enough to do it yourself.

When Daddy left, you and I watched a rather

helpful episode of SESAME STREET. It was about "sticking together". It's very useful especially for you and me. Big Bird and Maria starred the 30-minuter where they went to a huge mall to buy Snufflelufagus (I don't know how that's spelled, sorry) a present and they needed to stay together or else they would get separated. The show teaches what kids should do in the very case they get separated from their parents or guardians. So it advices that if that happens, YOU should go to a a store attendant, sales lady, or security person and not just anyone else. Then they will direct you to the information department where they will page your guardian or parent. It also teaches parents and guardians to be more careful and watchful not to lose their wards. I don't wanna have to go thru the stress of losing you so as much as possible, I don't want you to leave my sight or even leave my arms. If I have to carry you for hours, I will because I don't want to lose you.

Just like today. We went back to Cogon area because I wanted to go back to Aizilym where they were selling these lovely, affordable cocktail rings, I loved the one that I was going to buy and it was going to be an addition to my collection for only thirty pesos. It could cover my finger and I liked the fit, it was perfect! But Daddy's attitude of practicality just hit me and changed my mind. I thought that thirty pesos, with us now in a tight budget, could be 30 days worth of load, or whatever else necessary. So we left the store victorious over my vanity and with me carrying you this whole time.

The next scene wasn't expected. When we rode the jeep, I was wondering why there was a wide berth from from the lady seated near the door. I looked around, curious, to see a woman who was speaking in a loud voice to herself. Too loud that everybody in the public vehicle could hear it. I had to move away not because I was disgusted but I was scared that she might, for the lack of sanity, do something out of the blue and cause to hurt you. We transferred beside a mother whose daughter wouldn't stop fidgeting for want of water. And just like a magic word, it has an effect on you, listening, staring at the bigger girl that you said, "Mama towtow".
I think your version was cuter. HAHAH xD

JAMantic of the Day:
1. When you and I went out the hang the laundry, you were busy yourself peering out of the fence and into the street where bikes were humming, thinking it was Daddy's you called out "DADAH!" It was cute!

2.You were being choosy today and you expressed it quite clearly despite the lack of the needed vocabulary. You didn't want the scrambled egg sandwich but the Graham crackers in the ref. So you goaded me, as I was holding your plate of food, you said, "Mama up! Nanam." You took my hand and led me to the refrigerator, I opened it and you pointed your object of desire. ;)

P.S.
You bit me again today. This time, as I was half aware and half not so I was still in a state of shock when your jagged teeth pierced the soft part of my arm. No, you didn't let go of it immediately. In fact, you dug your teeth even harder until it left a deep impression.OUCH!

Your MAYmah,

DAY 310: September 1st, 2010; WEDNESDAY

Dear Jam,

It's the debut of "365 Days of Strawberry Jam" in Blogspot. I just had to start it already! Because the more I postpone, the more work piles up. I'm just glad to finally retrieve my account details, like password and "username" because I used to have trouble going thru. So I have a lot of catching up to do; a lot of milestones to record and memories to take note of.

I'm happy and thankful with how Daddy gets to balance with my role as a housekeeper, which robs me of the opportunity to sit down and teach you. By the time I sit down from work, I have to plan for the next chore, disregarding the moments when we could have explored words, sounds and textures. Daddy to the rescue; the body part for the day is "chin". He has a very good tactic and I have to congratulate him for that. Whenever he teaches you a new area of the anatomy, he always starts from what you knew already to the part where you last finished. First, he asks for your eyes.
"Where are your eyes? Very good"
"Your nose?" "Mouth?" "Teeth?" "Ears?" "Hair?" "Cheeks?" "Tummy?" "Armpit?"
The last time he taught you, you stopped at "armpit" and from there, he taught you "chin".Then he lets you repeat the whole sequence until you can figure out the new word by yourself. I didn't see that first hand but I saw it on a review. That and how you snuck up to the ref to get a piece of Graham cracker after finding that there isn't food even as you demanded "nanam" (hungry). I was cooking breakfast when I heard Daddy call me, telling how you managed to open the ref by pulling the ends of the hand towel hanging by the refrigerator handle.

You and I had our own little adventure though and it's something to really cherish! It wasn't supposed to be but that's how adventure is anyway, right? Spontaneous. I wanted to look for an alternative yellow shirt for my show with ABS-CBN where I am required to wear a certain color for the duration of the project. I just can't show up every Saturday with the same shirt! HAHAH! You have to know that Mommy has an insatiable thirst to constantly make a fashion statement - especially on TV! So I understand where you get it. Our adventure brought us from one second-hand clothes store to another until we reached Barrio Gaisano. It's an old mall where the surplus of Gaisano City and Gaisano Mall go to. People rarely go there as it is located in a conspicuously dangerous area of Cogon. But the smart fashionistas who want to buy for basically 70% off regular prize, go there. You've been throwing tantrums there whereas you've been more pleasant in the previous stores we've been to. Too pleasant that a lady from the second-hand store gave you a Hello Kitty patch for
free, out of pure adoration and admiration. You accepted it, gave her a smile and waved goodbye as we moved on to the next. We went to a crammed and hot Taiwanese store where the saleslady was very accommodating to me and doting on you. She asked if your father was a foreigner. Haha! But no, there were no tantrums there either. Until Gaisano where the kind salesgirls who would entertain me would tick you off. You'd give them that one syllable you use to mean "go away" or "don't touch Mommy's stuff" and that's your "AGH!"

Your Ate Hannah came by to visit - you, as she so emphasizes. She was so excited to see you that it only took her a couple of seconds to talk to me then dashed off upstairs to give you her little gift of candy. Tsk! Tsk! Tsk! Getting spoiled even by cousins, are we? HAHA! You are just too adorable to ignore!

JAMantic of the Day:
1. After a long time of setting your books aside for TV learning, Daddy and I decided to reintroduce you to your books. We took out one of your favorites to read "Bee Kind", which before we even started reading, you went ahead to say "bee". I'm not sure if you could read it but I'm betting that you remember it that way.

2. You can now say 2-word sentences, especially when instructing your Daddy and I. "Dada up" you said when you wanted your Daddy to change the DVD and "Mama Baby" to mean that you wanted the tummy rub to lull you to sleep.

Milestone Memoir 2009

August 31, 2009

Dear Baby Kitten,

We are so happy with the recent progress of yours, to Ninang's discovery. She was so excited when she said "Atee, Jamjam know how to kiss after a command", which we attempted afterward and realized you really do know how to kiss now. I can't wait to tell Daddy. Everyday your vocabulary is expanding, too!

Last night, I took pictures of you as you were sleeping, now ever more mobile in bed. From lateral, you went prone, leaning on your crossed arms and then your face pops out for air in an attempt to lie on your side again but you were too sleepy so you ended up in this funny-cute-model-like pose, hand on the waist.

Your Lolo Longking visited, sending Ninang in the usual frenzy of errands. This time, it was to concoct a brew of Banana-Mang-pineapple shake. You enjoyed it immensely, thanks to Lolo Longking. :D

DAY 311: August 31st, 2010; TUESDAY

Dear Jam,

You bit me! You bit me and I didn't expect it. I think there would have been a difference in my pain threshold had I expected the bite but no, it was not anticipated. I was quite confident as usual, rubbing on the Solcoseryl on the swollen areas of your gum where teeth had broken out. We just came from shower with that sort of drowse lent by the comfortable feeling of cleanliness and I thought you'd be too sleepy to play around when hi and ho a big "AH!" breaks the lull that was Daddy sipping coffee from his mug. The cry came from me and as much as I would like to contain it, your saw-edged teeth were piercing thru the softer spots of my point
finger. And it took so long that I swear to have seen stars when I pulled my finger out of your mouth. Daddy says I should be careful now that with all those teeth growing, you're bound to find the desire to bite anything that gets in between them. I think my finger is still throbbing with the memory of the pain. Now I know how it is to be a vampire and how it is to be bitten by one. HAHA!

But then again, you're still a bundle of joy though at times, I could swear you behave like a ruthless gremlin. It must be that good/bad twirly-wirly loops of hair on your head that switches you on and off like a bipolar. Your good side was happy today; seeing the SURF ad with that singing lady. There's this one lady putting out the clothes on the line to dry, singing as she goes, until she gets to a shirt that has, even after laundry, retained body odor. So she sings with her nose clipped. Now, that part, as Daddy reports, you so love mimicking. First, you held your nose and hummed an unrecognizable tune then you'd go around to everyone and holding their noses, ask them to sing as the woman in the commercial. HAH! They so enjoyed that!

You were good throughout the day actually. You finished one scrambled egg sandwich and ate a lot of rice and vegetables. Very good diet, for starte
rs! really, you were good today (except for that bite of course ;)) because as the night closed in, you behaved as if mesmerized by the new video I introduced to you - Cubeez. I think you're starting to like it and so am I.

Our pet Strawberry Jam in PET SOCIETY has grown

quite wealthier with gold coins after visiting friends and her petling "Meemeen" (as you prefer to call it, so I named it) has grown bigger in size too, black with cheery blue eyes. You screamed when you saw Meemeen flip in the air after we fed her.

By the way, we had our first bill today! :D

JAMantic of the Day:
You used to call your diaper gravy as "ibi". It actually goes for both pee and poo from the Visayan word "weewee" or "wiwi" but now, you've identified it as "poopoo" aside "ibi".

Milestone Memoir 2009

August 30, 2009

Dear Baby Kitten,

I got so worried because earlier before now that I've tucked you to sleep, you were crying helplessly while I was changing your diapers after poopie. Mamilou and Ninang was there but we all couldn't figure out why you were crying. Mamilou thought it was just a tantrum so she kept mimicking your syllables, which surprisingly there was a lot at that time "abababa-abopababapa". Ninang and I were trying to figure out what you were trying to say - my heart was crying because I can't seem to find out what except to hazard a guess that your bumbum was painful what with the difficulty to defecate. But you're all better now.

We went to Carmen where for a couple of hours you stayed in the care of Mamala, Papalo and Lola Kotan while I went out in attempts of e-mailing Daddy. I say attempts because the first five minutes in Netopia was an epic failure when the electricity suddenly went out. I had to move to another block in DV Soria to another cafe only to sit for less than five minutes until another blackout. I didn't get to e-mail :(

Love, Mamimeow

DAY 312: August 30th, 2010; MONDAY

Dear Jam,

You were oriented to make up today and this time, it is from a make-up artist - and that is me! :D You wouldn't stay put and you kept pointing at things you
aren't supposed to be touching "mama this and mama that". So I whipped up a hypoallergenic eyeshadow crayon from my makeup kit and taught you how to use it. I think you got the hang of it because you never put it in your mouth, even anywhere near your lips. I am just amazed how curious you could be and how easily satisfied you are when instructed properly. That's a very good sign.

Also, today, I was shocked to see manage to put a scrunchie thru your wrist by yourself. You have all these colorful bands lying around at home you never got to wear after your haircut that you finally found some use with them by wearing them as wrist bands. Another one I'd like to take in account is how you fanned yourself with a piece of cardboard box - like you saw me a couple of
days back. Not to forget how you showed me to wipe your tears when crying and then blowing your nose with your shirt. HAH! You are just full of surprises, a bundle of joy you are!

What was painful for you, me and Daddy later on in the evening though was when you had trouble defecating. No matter how much you forced it with grunts and groans, it wouldn't come it but a spec from you bottom. You were so sleepy but couldn't rest because of the pain. You kept saying "yayay" and that pediatric suppository was a little painful for you too even as the relief came, it was still "yayay". So it was Maymah and Djaydah's job to keep you entertained. Daddy laid out the folding bed in the cafe counter where while I was watching the cafe, Daddy was playing with you. You whiled away, forgot the pain for sometime as you found the window sill to be a perfect spot to play pretend piano. You were even humming the tune of whatever you may have been playing. Later, when that idea was already exhausted, I acquainted you with a nursery rhyme both Daddy and I are familiar with. I like this song too because as it is accompanied with a drawing, this woke the artist that was yet sleeping when I was your age. So it goes

"Small circle, small circle. Big round circle.
Small circle, small circle. Big round circle.
This is Mama, this Papa, waving goodbye.
Six times six, equals thirty-six,
Six times six, equals magic."
The end of the song will have ended with the drawing of a pig. You liked it! Loved it in fact that you asked me to keep on doing it until our paper was full of pigs and doodles.

Not to forget cats! ;)

JAMantic of the Day:
1. You progressed from calling yourself "Tatap" to "Jajap". We're almost there!

2. As you and I were preparing to leave for work, you pointed the shoe racks and said "My shoes!" and later when we got to work, seeing Daddy wearing a watch you said "Dedah, wash". Ooh! Very good!

3. I think you're turning Aussie on me, thanks to Auntie Sher! HEHEHE! So we were watching a show where you heard the number eight but you know what you said? "Ayt" You said it just like the Australians say it! HAHAHA!

Your MAYmah,

Milestone Memoir 2009

August 29, 2009

Dear Baby Kitten,

I'm so happy because earlier today, Daddy called us via satellite phone. Unfortunately though, you've already drifted off to sleep when that happened. I was just lying down with you in our new position (a change of bed and room arrangement) and I was ready to dose off when your Nahnang handed me the phone. There really must be a connection between me and Daddy because when the phone rang, I just knew that it was him. I was positive and I turned out to be right.

Mommy is just so tired by the way because aside from rearranging the enourmous furniture in the bedroom, we also had a discussion and return demonstration on a full Body Swedish Massage. I had to be the masseur and late on the client - my body went on a relaxed mode but since I wasn't in the comfort of our own home, I had to force myself to stay awake and my butt up so I think I kinda strained some muscles here and there.

We went to Carmen also because it was Papalo's birthday dinner. I was surprised to find Mamala's text asking us to visit. That provided for some means for me to go to school while secure with the feeling that you were cared for by your paternal grandparents. :D

DAY 312: August 29th, 2010; SUNDAY

Dear Jam,

We say HAPPY BIRTHDAY PAPALO!

Today was a busy day, I have to admit it -
I was very tired and pissed off when I came home. It started with me, all nerve-racked with my first job as an outsourced ABS-CBN host, after a long time. I went early to the studio only to be sent home for make-up. So it wasn't until 1PM that my job really started. Well, I have to say, I still have it. I still have what it takes to entertain people and get the "love". I couldn't have expected the star treatment even more so people from the crowd taking videos of me, or kids coming up to me, to say I am beautiful and sexy. All these gave me warm fuzzy feelings and made me prouder as a mother because I've realized that having you hasn't changed me for the worse but for the better, it has improved me.

Things were A.O.K. until I got back from work, tired and a little
set off already because Daddy was stammering if he was going to pick me up or not. When he stammers, that's a bad sign because it leads to an irreversible "no". I tossed the issue, being small as it is, off my shoulder and commuted. Then when I come back to the cafe, Daddy says "they" were going to watch fireworks display at SM. That meant, "I" wasn't included in the plan, which he had concocted a couple of days ago. It really threw me off. I was tired from work, add that to feeling disappointment and hurt, which doesn't make it a healthy feeling. I've always dreamt of watching fireworks, something I've never seen live before and I was hoping to do it with you and Daddy - or just Daddy, to spice up the romance. But it turns out he's heading out with your Nohnongs and it hurt me very much. It hurt me because he didn't consider if I would like to go. I was very very hurt, I felt disregarded and forgotten. I sulked as he left, feeling close to tears.

What helped was the fact that
you were with me and that I had
counseled myself. I considered that perhaps there would be some other time or that Daddy would come to his senses about the issue. Another thing that helped was the late night snack with Mamilou and Nahnang at Pancake House as a belated celebration for Nahnang's recent Nursing Board success. We had more than food and kiwi shake actually, we had a little more than a heart-to-heart talk in fact. We were pouring our hearts out there, thank God, it was closing time and we were practically the last set of customer.

After all these drama of course, we returned to reality - I'm just grateful that part of the reality is you. Mamilou and Nahnang joined me back to Lapasan where they saw you and had a bite from the little celebration for Papalo. Thankfully as well, part of that reality is a sweet reconciliation between me and Daddy.

JAMantic of the Day:
Mamala reports that at lunch, you ate your carbonara like a caveman - err woman. You grabbed a handful of noodles and shoved it to your mouth until your full and satisfied. Hah! My princess kitty, the BARBARIAN! ;)

Your MAYmah,

Strawberry-No-Jam 001

August 29, 2010

Dear Jam,

I'm here in ABS-CBN right now. It's 10:45 AM and I'm waiting for the 8 O'clock Iced Tea and Juice Drinks Barangayan event to roll out in Consolacion - the little town under the big bridge. After a long time since 2007, I've accepted a job for television. I'm excited at the same time anxious; an expected feeling after a hiatus of appearing anywhere near camera media. I'm relishing the feeling at the same time missing you right now. I won't forget last night that you've allowed me, after several nights of wanting nobody else but Daddy, to tuck you to sleep. You didn't want me to leave you as the lights were switched off, you asked me to keep rubbing your tummy until you fell asleep.

Love, Maymah

(Written in as a separate entry while at work)

DAY 313: August 28th, 2010; SATURDAY

Dear Jam,

IT'S FIESTA! Viva Senyor San Agustin!

Even more "viva" to, is Mommy getting an offer from old friends at ABS-CBN! Ooh! I get to have a sideline! ON TV! AGAIN! Nah! I'm just thrilled with the idea but I am even more excited to entertain people, that's what is really important for me. I wanna be able to express myself, to hold the microphone, and talk, and talk, and oh just gab!

You've been a lovely model to mommy today, just popping up poses when I say so. Here (up) is my favorite of you. Tyra Banks says, we should model from the tip of our fingers to the tip of our toes! Look! You're barely two and you're already doing it! HAHAH! It must be the America's Next Top Model DVD marathons while I was pregnant with you! ;)

What's even lovelier is that when our shift was ending at the cafe,
while Daddy and you were waiting for me. He brings out a clipboard with a paper on it and a pen, asking you to write. Then he pokes me and says that I should sign, too. He said he already signed after you. He shrugged saying that you started it and I agreed how your (supposed) signature looks like a combination of Daddy's and mine! CUTE! You and Daddy just make a delightful team. You've learned a lot from him. Like earlier, he taught you how to "approve" together by thumbs after "appear" as in high-five and "align" with the point fingers.
JAMantic of the Day:
1. Tasted your first toasted bread for snack.

2. You can now count "three" as "tee" after learning how to say "two" perfectly. Daddy was crossing his leg and that gave you the idea to climb around it. Doing this, you were counting how many times you went around and climbed up his leg, lifting your point finger as "one", saying "two" then "tee" for "three".

Milestone Memoir 2009

August 27, 2009

Dear Baby Kitten,

I'm running low on red ink but that's not the reason why I haven't been writing so I'm gonna say the usual line that Mommy has been busy lately - not only that, you've suddenly changed to a different sleeping schedule (8PM asleep, 3AM awake) which is a big defining factor. I've managed to subdue you at 6AM so I'm now, after 2 Hrs of lettering (or font-rendering) my classmate's TESDA certificate...on my throne...in the bathroom. Ahihihi! xD

Daddy hasn't texted yet but we've been keeping in touch. I do hope he's getting our messages, more so fine wherever he is.

I was down with tonsillitis and cold after we got home from our visit to your Ninang Mae's and Hazel's and I didn't feel better until yesterday. Ironically, I got it when I was drenched in rain and lost it the same way. But thank God, you didn't get any of the virus because I had to limit our time and intimacy for the while. We did go to Carmen and we brought your walker with us.

Ooh! You're almost eight months now! :D

DAY 314: August 27th, 2010; FRIDAY

Dear Jam,

NINANG PASSED THE NURSING BOARD EXAMS!!!
Weeeh!! Now, that's makes her one step away to being a Registered Nurse and as soon as she takes oath, we will have a nurse in our little family! :D *sigh* It just makes me think how it was just yesterday when I was still laughing with her, inventing our silly misadventures for movies and novels. She all "growed up" my little sister. It makes me feel proud to the core - I'm just thankful I didn't personally see the results online, that might have a different effect on me. Auntielou Ching claimed that waiting on the results caused to stress her with anxiety, bowel movement was difficult as sleep. As for Mamilou, I don't know how many rosaries she's said. I might have passed out had I seen my sister's full name with the last name we both share. *gah* A Baqui nurse! Finally!

So we had
ice cream today to celebrate for Nahnang's success. She came by the cafe, then Daddy and Nohong Yolop bought the ice cream and pancit lomi. You had both of course, which Daddy and I aren't so worried about because earlier, you and I went to buy organic food for you. So we indulge with sweets and junk food once in a while, if you know what I mean. ;)

JAMantic of the Day:

1. Said "bah?" to mean "o, diba?". We were watching the YOUTube sensation that became the four gay men who recorded their reaction to Miss Universe 2010. They were jumping up and down and I said, laughing "Oh, they're happy and gay" (in Bisaya) you just had to agree with "bah?" it made us all laugh even more.

2. Your term "yayay" has evolved from pain or hurt to you every whim. Say, you wanted bread and you would point at your tummy and say "yayay", so that meant your hungry. There's a lot more where that "yayay" came from!

3. You attempted to wear your shoes by yourself today. I was preparing to leave when lo and behold, when I turned to you, you've placed one foot in a shoe while you were fixing one for the other.

Ooh! And I;m not going to forget how we enjoyed your little shad
ow play! It was your first time to understand that the dark figure thrown off against the wall from the light, mimicking your figure and movements actually came from you. You were delighted to see this, Daddy and I joined in the fun and made animal shadows with you on the wall. You were so adorable! Flapping your arms with excitement.

Your MAYmah,
