DAY 326: August 15th, 2010; SUNDAY

Dear Jam,

It's a long busy day today! That's for me at least. I had to wake up early in the morning so I can cook breakfast for you and Daddy
and then to be fetched by Mamilou and Nahnang to head to the Drum, Bugle, and Twirler Face-off in El Salvador, which I will be hosting. We were supposed to be fetching your Auntie Sher and Uncle Shane
from Apple Tree but your Aunt had a bit of shower misfortune while in the middle of shampooing, the shower just stopped. I saw how unfortunate that was with her wrapped in a robe and towel, half-down from shower. But she was still all smiles even if she was pissed off and I like that about her. So Mamilou and I headed to El Salvador, leaving Nahnang behind at Apple Tree who accompanied the couple. The show cheered her up, thankfully as it brought memories of her days as a twirler when she was still in the Philippines. We enjoyed the showcase of talented and skilled high school students. One who really stole my attention was an only girl in the drum line playing the triple! Wow! To carry all the weight and playing the instrument while in motion in a dress is no short of a feat! Some little women attracted my attention and Mamilou's as we discussed who among them you'd likely grow up to be; a tall girl with Daddy's height, Ate Mae Anne's charm plus naivete, and Mommy's beauty queenesque stature or the girl with Nahnang's full thighs, Mommy's skin and confidence and Daddy's features? I was the only one who practically got tickled with my own imagination.

After the program, with stomachs grumbling of hunger and heads complaining of the heat, we went to visit your Lolo Longking's lovely new spot over the mountain. We had a delectable lunch of lechon and cheesy fruit salad. Your Auntie Sher didn't expect this as she had bought a lechon for the beach fete. But she had a pleasant shock even more so when she saw and tasted (once again after 17 years) fresh "puto". We had a great time, something Lolo Longking expected to share with more guests from the family, including you and Daddy.

The fun continued in the beach where everybody continue
d to talk about you since you came late. You made a way to suspend the thrill and when you arrived with Daddy and Nohnong Yolop, you were carried off from my arms to an aunt and then to another. However, you couldn't accommodate their praises with drowse pulling your eyelids down, you barely made a sound. You simply allowed to be carried off to the beach, to pictorials, and even to eat ribs from the lechon. The only time you ever showed anymore energy was when you chased a feral cat in the beach house and later one more at Apple Tree.

JAMantic of the Day:
Your first time in seawater. You were hesitant, perhaps it was the drowse inviting fear but when your Auntie Sher took you in her arms, you didn't complain and just ogled around in wonder.

You MAYmah,
