Dear Jam,
I spilled hot water all over my hands, I find it very difficult to write. It was a little accident earlier today at breakfast, I might have been sleepy or what with the rush to keep the food hot. Anyway, I realized that even as I am injured, being a mom, I am not excused for anything.
This does not exempt me from doing chores and taking care of you and Daddy. I'm just weak that I had to lay down beside you and do an ELMO'S WORLD Marathon instead of busying myself with the chores. To make the day worse than I had expected it, you were being unbearable. You were all over the place that you'd almost brought the stand fan down to pieces. That was excusable because it could easily be passed off as an accident but then later on, you were spanked anyway. You just didn't want to sleep when it was obvious that you were sleepy, you had bags and dark circles under your eyes! You wriggled and struggled - AND you screamed at my face. We had to teach you a lesson but I think, I did it too hard that I might have left marks on your leg. I just can't spank you again. It broke my heart listening to you cry, knowing that there was another way to go around it than just spank you for being restless. I don't wanna have to go where my mother's discipline took me when I was a kid and that was classic obedience class, I don't want you to experience that. Anyway, after that, you've been more behaved.
I had my first paycheck today, working for the cafe and it's a treasured salary because it's something that comes from a work I'd never thought myself to be involved in but I seem to enjoy. All's well that ends well, ja? Though there's just one thing that's getting us all anxious - Nahnang's Nursing Board Exam results. *whew* They're sus
JAMantic of the Day:
1. Learned the "Duck duck" song with Daddy. It's something the two of you composed and choreographed after watching Baby Einstein's animal videos.
2. Pronounced "bye" very well and that is thanks to Hello Kitty and Friends where Kitty says "Bye" in the end of every show. Repetition does help increase instance of absorption for you.
3. Mimicked Daddy's "roll on" action while you saw him rolling on his armpit.
4. Blew bubbles by yourself. You merely had to say "up" to mean that bubbles go up, we understand it that you want to have the bubble canister opened so you can hold the stick and blow the bubbles yourself.
5. Said "ba-bam" for "bumbum" or bottom. I was talking to you about how you might hurt your "ba-bam" if you didn't behave.
Your MAYmah,

Dear Jam,
You've made a lot of sense today with your baby talk. You've made a lot of words in fact to make sense out of ideas that once to us where incomprehensible. Slowly, your world and ours are becoming the same, anytime now you will be able to speak in sentences.
I think observing us has got a lot to do with this and your share of TV helps. So we made sure that you only get the best of TV education that's why Daddy and I put on
SESAME STREET. Actually, I was reprimanded. I wanted to watch VAMPIRE SUCKS but when it came to a part where there was more than kissing, Daddy told me to stop it. So I put SESAME STREET on for you to watch. It's a classic and from it, we've learned alphabet, colors and shapes at the same time appreciated the fluffiness of the characters. I bet you did too, Elmo's voice seem to mesmerize you. So do the live kittens who just came alive from a cat who gave birth to them in our attic.
Adding to my beauty queen dream for you, today you've known how to "pose" and "smile". Isn't that precious? :D
JAMantic of the Day:
1. Said "No, no, no beel" while shaking a finger at Daddy who was drinking soda. Daddy taught you that soda, coffee, iced tea, and liquor are all beer, he means they're all bad for you. So you meant that "No, no, no, you shouldn't be drinking beer".
2. After a couple of days learning from my instruction of "hands up" when I take your shirt off, before I even said it, you said "up" and put your hands up.
Your MAYmah,
Dear Jam,
Maria Venus Raj wins 4th
Runner-Up today in Miss Universe 2010. After a long time since Miriam Quiambao won 1st Runner-Up, a Filipina gets to the top 5! The internet is having a rave about her "Major, Major" mishap or some say fortune but I think that was God's way of relieving the aggravated hearts of our countrymen from what happened yesterday. I am
proud of Miss Raj whatever the case is. I can see your future in her too; Daddy's lean figure, mine and his height combined, and my beauty queenesque presence. Sorry! I can't help fantasize sometimes with a myriad of what your future holds for you. Well, this daydreaming and Venus Raj's victory eases thoughts over other Asian countries banning Filipinos from going to their countries, or having to force OFWs working there to move back here.
Anyway, you had your first knee booboo today.
Whil
e Daddy was
cleaning his bike, you and I went out to have a walk around the compound. You must have been excited with the new speed of your heels, the progress lent by your leg motor skills that you just ran around. You weren't able to cope up with your own speed that when you tried to stop, you fell all fours on the ground. Thus the scrape. But you didn't cry and I just explained to you why that was, eventually you carried on musing around. With your exploration, you found a tiny baby coconut, which you presented to me with the vim of an archeologist - as if you've discovered a rare treasure. That's how it is to your perception and I think that's just lovely.
Today, our PET SOCIETY life on Facebook began. It's a FLASH-animated game built on an interactive concept. I like it becuase it's cute, colorful and it's YOU! Our pet is pink, it has cat ears and it's called STRAWBERRY JAM. :D
JAMantic of the Day:
1. Said "anbayan" to Daddy to mean "Ano ba yan?" when Daddy had a little mistake.
2. Said "Tatap Babay" after getting her bags and acting her way out of the door to mean "Jamjam is saying goodbye".
Your MAYmah,
Dear Jam,
Today, not only the Philippines but the whole world has fixed all eyes on Quirino Grandstand where a hostage drama is taking place. It's a devastating news; it has shaken many and stirred the anger of Asian countries and some of the Filipinos who are quite easily aggravated by their fellow Filipinos. I don't want to dwell on it but it has brought such weight to my attention, not that lives have been taken but because the people who are still lucky to be alive right now, waste their time pointing fingers at each other. I have nothing against anyone, I understand that we all have different ways of coping and mine is to mediate between the angry and the sober to unite them and hope that whatever is left of this country would not continue to be divided. I want to be able to leave a legacy of a country to you and your future siblings that would nourish your spirits and enrich your wisdom. But the Philippines is so rich of resources, human resources in fact because we are a nation built on intelligent people - we just know that too much that we wouldn't bow down to anyone else's intelligence. I hope this will all be over soon.
Moving forward, you had a haircut today. It's just so cute coz Daddy and I got to cut your hair. I was bad at it, he just actually took over. He told me it was okay whatever I did with it so come on! ;) He saw that my first snip was bad and off, he just had to the scissors from me. And were you a compliant customer! You didn't fuss or struggle, you just waited for your cut to finish.

We had to do laundry again today. The
mil
k-soaked sheets and pillow cases just had to be washed. But you were a joy to watch because this time, I decided to involve you. You were my helping hand putting the clothes up on the wire. However, as soon as you saw the colorful flowers and fancy leaves, your attention just went.
Your canines are coming out already, by the way! Ooh! New teeth!
JAMantic of the Day:
1. Said "beeg" for "PIG". Other than Georgio, you also love cuddling with our big Pig.
2. You are very good following instruction when we were brushing our teeth. You now know how to do "gargle", "rinse", and "spit" by command. Cute!
Your MAYmah,

Dear Baby Kitten,

Today is marked by many firsts! It was your first jeepney ride because we had to go visit Ninang Hazel in Bonbon so Mommy can get patient and signed patient profiles for OJT. It was also your first time to encounter a crowd of my friends (well, your Ninang Hazel's family that is) and a bunch of kids, which to your delight, I didn't hear you complain and to think you were passed from one person to another. It was also your first time to meet your god-sister Angeli (as bigger girls), Ninang Mae's and Ninong Regner's baby. The last time you saw each other was during your christening. It was also your first time to ride a walker, Angeli's was left in a corner of their house it had become a laundry basket of sorts so I asked your Ninang if I can put you in it. You liked it so much, your Ninong offered to lend it to you until their next baby is born, which isn't another seven more months - because your Ninang is expecting!!! Weeeh!
Love, Mamimeow
Dear Jam,
We had
such an experience coming home from Kauswagan, involving the bike and rain. After laundry, chores and sunlight, Daddy drove us to visit your Mamilou, Lolo and Nahnang where they played with you as if you were a doll. We went to get a couple of stuff we
left when we moved, what took a little longer was the time spent playing with you. You were just all over the place, like a real spoiled princess. You enjoyed having to see everyone give
in to your
every whim. I wanted to distract you from throwing a hissy fit by trying on the little Chinese dress I bought when you were a wee one. To our pleasant shock, we saw th
at it was an exact fit! Nahnang said it was the "National Costume Competition", sequel to that swimwear stint that happened before we moved. You looked so cute walking, posing, and even running in the pink outfit. You were just here and there; on the bed, eating Lolo's homemade embutido he especially made for your visit, picking up stuff that shouldn't be picked, and then playing with your Mamilou's new laptop. We put the fake glasses on you while youw ere typing and you do seem to be a convincing enough genius. ;)
From there, we decided to grab a couple of DVD titles. But on our
way, it started raining so hard Daddy had to stop to get us down. We all decided to travel separately; we commute and Daddy to drive the bike with his raincoat on. So you and I dropped by the DVD center and bought Angelina Jolie's SALT and THE EXPENDABLES, starring a couple of good action stars, to mention Jet Li, Jason Statham, and Sylvester Stallone. We also bought a spoofed version of the TWILIGHT saga called VAMPIRE SUCK, which Daddy strongly averred, I shouldn't be watching when you are around as it could get both graphic and pornographic. He needn't worry because I bought you your own videos; Brainy Babies and Sesame Street. Daddy nodded his head when he saw Sesame Street. We both like the fact that you'll be enjoying a show we both practically grew up watching. Not to forget, Daddy is a big COOKIE MONSTER fan like you and me. ;)
What was so amusing though was when we were watching the movies. I think your Daddy was distracted with TV that he left you fiddling with your PLAYTEX anti-COLIC bottle, the one with the twist bottom. You managed to turn that open and BOOM! Out comes milk! It was all over the sheets and pillow. But you're so precious, you weren't even fussed that's why Daddy and I merely laughed.
JAMantic of the Day:
1. CAT versus HAT errand. As cat and hat sound the same, we expected that you would have trouble distinguishing one from the other. But when Daddy told you to pick one after the other, you picked them in the order he said it. Now that's progress!
2. Said"at"for HAT.
3. Said"Dodo"for your big pink stuffed bear "Georgio". What's even more amazing is that we haven't spoken of the bear's name since Daddy bought it for you and that was when he arrived. That had to be April and you barely spoke with sense. This could only mean that you were able to retain the information that the bear's name is "Georgio" for four months! You're truly amazing!
Your MAYmah,
