DAY 239: November 11, 2010; THURSDAY

250 (and then some)
Days of "Strawberry Jam" without "J"

Dear Jam,

Here is another leftover masterpiece! Although I don't give much credit to the leftover lechon manok, I will call it thus nonetheless. Then we we had
Cucumber-Tomato salad at the side and strawberries for dessert. Nahnang is complaining that she's gaining all this weight suddenly because of her stay at home. So she is. Hehe!

ACCORDING TO NAHNANG:
You've gotten better
spelling out the word "ENERGY". That shirt Nahnang wore yesterday is a night shirt so she wore it again last night, hence it would be the first thing you'll see on her when waking up. I was in the kitchen, fixing the food when I came back hearing
Nahnang's report of your progress. I couldn't be happier. You've also taken a liking to another Cubeez theme song "We're Going to Have Fun". In retrospect, I think you already liked the song but it wasn't until today that you sang your version with dance step of your own choreography. As the song goes "We're going to have Fun, Fun, Fun. We we will march not Run, run, run.", you version is "Pum, pum, pum. (Pause) Eh pum, pum, pum. Yan!" Hahah! You did this after Nahnang performed it to your demands of "Choobeez! Choobeez!" and instead of putting it on DVD, she had a live show of her own. Then again when Nahang and I performed it for you in the evening.

In the afternoon, during my watch, you hung out at Carmen to join
Mamala at the Derby festivities. She just misses so much that she sent Ate Mae Anne to ask me if it was okay that she (Mamala) would borrow you. Why not, right? I mean, if I were in her position, I would miss you too! Everyone misses you because of all your theatrics, a habitual character of yours. So off to Carmen you went in your cutesie attire with all the flamboyance of the hat and a banana on Ate Mae Anne's lap!

While you were away, Nahnang and I revisited a 1996 remake of THE ISLAND OF DOCTOR MOREAU, starring our
very idol DAVID THEWLIS who plays PROFESSOR REMUS LUPIN in the HARRY POTTER Films. It's quite graphic to be short with description; bloody, grotesque and monstrous as were the characters. So we were glad that we needn't worry about having you around to watch it. It's a getaway of a Nobel Peace Winner surgeon who experiments on mixing human genes with animal genes, to hopefully eradicate the presence of the physical "evil". His intention is good, humanitarian if seen as a whole but then inhumane at a short distance because of this "experimentation" and for trapping David Thewlis' character in the island. Clever how the actor who portrays Dr. Moreau, Marlon Brando, appeared in the older version as David Thewlis' character, if I am not mistaken. The point of this film-viewing apart from Fairuza Balk (an idol since her antagonistic portrayal in The Craft), Val Kilmer, Ron Pearlman and David Thewlis' priceless acting is to realize that the world is strange. There are, in reality, a lot of crazy things going on in the world right now and the movie may just be the tip of the dungheap, if I am allowed to say. When you arrived though, we had to switch to a more wholesome programming and that's how we stumbled upon a bit of an old cartoon in our childhood, Little Nemo. The kid who, in his pajamas, screaming "Pajama, pajama, pajama" to urge his bed to move, seek adventure in the most unlikely of places in the height of the moon. The fact that we once called you "pajama" makes this movie even more delightful to watch. We'll watch that when we have more time, okay? I bet Nahnang agrees, it's her favorite and Tito Jim's of D'Crammerz too as far as I have heard.

Here is another gift from Mamala, a pair of new lovely slippers. One
with a safety garter to keep your feet in tact and closer to the thong. It's cute! I would like to have one in my size please? You've just become an accidental shoeholic, taking after me and Nahnang, I believe? I'm thankful that as much as you've been trained to wear different shoe styles, the lot has also helped you learn to differentiate it with each other. When I told you to get the "Blue" shoes, you easily spotted it among the rest. I say, this is a clever training and you are greatly credited for spending as much time putting them on, one by one.

On our way home, you were quite the charmer on the phone. We have
this portable phone at the cafe, which Nohnong carries around with him whenever possible and it was in the cab when we found you with it. You were muttering and mumbling as if someone was in the other line and later handed it to me and said "Daddy?". Aww** How I just wish. To fend of thoughts of missing Daddy, I gave the phone back to you and told you to order pizza "One pizza please?" I said. That's when you went back to the phone, muttered, pulling a finger up to indicate "one".

By the way, you and I had our first taste of Tuna
ala liver spread. No. You don't like it and I quite agree with you. So let's finish the can up and be done with it and stick to peanut butter and other sorts.

What was the new word today at the bathroom? Ah yes, "Shapoo" for shampoo. I was running you through evening shower when you spotted Nahnang's toiletries and said "Nahnang shapoo". You do have your way of learning things and you don't only fascinate me but others as well, especially Ninang Jeng. I can only imagine how she was laughing at the previous post where I mentioned about how you pronounced your name. I saw her Facebook status reiterate your pronunciation and knew that it must have really gotten into her that much.

JAMantic of the Day:
You called me "Mummy" you know. All thanks to our HARRY POTTER Marathon at home. You called me just like any other British child would call their mother. "Mummy!" I love the sound of that for it is either British or too Egyptian, if you know what I mean! Hahah! Not only that, you also learned how to cackle! Yes, like a little wicked witch you are, my naughty little kitty.

Your Mommy,
