DAY 257: October 24, 2010; SUNDAY

268 (and then some)
Days of "Strawberry Jam" without "J"

Dear Jam,

I don't think we would ever have a day that is not hectic, especially Mommy is back in sync, back to the banging stage body, I have been quite in demand. Like today, I had to host The Face of Plaza Fair, a joint project of PLAZA FAIR with UNILEVER and it's all thanks to your Tita Sorene that I am part of something I've missed for sometime. I owe you a lot for waking me up today, which is necessary! I had to prepare breakfast, you and then my stuff for the event. It was your precious little voice saying "yabbit" repetitively as you played with that ball of a stuffed rabbit that you

have. That wakeup call was so sweet that I had to say "Good morning Pumpkin!" and replying to that, you sweetly said "Tum-pin?". You then gave me my phone, which was blinking with messages galore and said "Too, tee, too, tee" I thought you meant that I should be contacting a couple of numbers, or perhaps that somebody called. It wasn't until you said it in a sing-songy voice did I understand that you wanted me to play our recording of "123 Jam". Well, thank you Baby. I feel very appreciated for the composition.

Anyway, it was set that you will stay in Mamilou's care and Nahnang will play my assistant during the pageant but then we had to wait for them and for the mass to finish where they are serving. To kill time, after the packing and when everything was set to go but time, we reviewed Cats and Dogs: The Revenge of Kitty Galore as you cleaned the little tub of peanut butter with the spoon and soon your bare hands. When time was ready for us, we went to Limketkai and hung around to wait for people to clear up. We waited at Mister Donuts where you were curious of the delicious shapes and festive colors. I decided to buy you a cup of their new Donuts N' Dip in Strawberry Jam. It kept you still for awhile but since you are ever the show stopper, scene stealer, as soon as people started paying attention to you, you were ever mobile again. This went on to lunch at PANCAKE HOUSE where you were eagerly peering and pointing at the Kiddie Menu the waiter handed you. Then on it went when I turned you over to Mamilou's care so I could get ready. She had to pacify you with a toy of butterfly-on-the-wheel. For a while. Even that HELLO KITTY pen she bought wouldn't keep you in one place. Finally, she decided to take you to Kauswagan while the show happened.

After the show, I decided that since tomorrow would be the BARANGAY
ELECTIONS, where Mamilou hoped to be early off, that perhaps we should just stay and sleep in Kauswagan. I went back to our pad, grabbed a couple of essentials before I went to see you in Kauswagan with a little surprise I bought off my one-day-work salary. You shrieked as soon as you saw it! It's a BEE Book Clapper filled with beautiful and lively colors. I also bought myself two Egyptian novels to add to my collection. I am excited to read one, which is a best seller from my favorite author Anne Rice.

So down at Kauswagan you enjoyed the fullest of the remaining day (With a newly snipped bangs, thanks to Mamilou) with me and Nahnang. She brought out the electronic keyboard and played the harmony for "123 Jam" and "ABC Jam", both basically having the same tune. When she was done and sure of it, we switched to DEMO mode and played a couple of pre-recorded tunes in the playlist, including your all-time-favorite "Twinkle Twinkle". Actually, we introduced you to Hendel's compositions, then Canon, a couple of other Nursery rhymes until you sang "Up-abah" with your hands up high to indicate the wide sky. So I said "Ahh...Up above the world so high" then we played "Twinkle Twinkle" to your utter delight.

That was Rated GP, you were awake by this time and as soon you were fast asleep, Nahnang and I went ahead to Rated Horrific. Haha! We were talking about CANNIBALISM, CULTURE, and Anne Rice's QUEEN OF THE DAMNED. Thanks to Anne Rice. No really, I thank her. You know why? She has, with her Queen of the Damned Best Seller, lent me an understanding on how cannibalism plays an important part in some cultures. So I read that unlike accustomed by the majority of cultures in the world, the minority, these called cannibals consider it disrespectful, even sacrilegious to simply bury the body of their loved ones. That they should partake of the ritually prepared and cooked flesh of their dearly beloved is part and parcel of their cycle in living. What they take in from the body, they use up to the fullest and that the person who had lived has fulfilled their purpose to their utmost use. Stuff. And I totally respect the way they have it, it's just that we only choose to call anything that we don't understand as "barbaric" because we don't want to make anymore effort to understand it beyond our norm. As you should know, this was encourage
d by the thought of the new Anne Rice book I bought. Again, I am excited to read it! :DD

But of course, our Pre-Halloween Photoshoot with Daddy had to be edited first and I did just that as soon you and Nahnang were fast asleep.

JAMantic of the Day:
To Nahnang's prompting, as you wiggled in bed, we prayed "ANGEL OF GOD". It pacified you, your hands clasped together as you prayed with us and I think that's a good thing. To keep you as that and to assure a good night's sleep, I rubbed your back while singing the prayers "ANGEL OF GOD" and "NOW I LAY ME DOWN" in the tunes I composed for it, for you. Sweet dreams Kitten.

Your MAYmah,
