Days of "Strawberry Jam" without "J"
Dear Jam,
Here you are with Nahnang in her reenactment of the little accident you had with the water and the floor. It was entirely your fault, however as I was in the kitchen with dinner and didn't see it, Nahnang showed me how it came to be. It turned out that you were laying with your sippy cup, sprinkling the water on the floor and wouldn't listen to Nahnang's admonitions. Neither of you noticed how big the puddle of water was already on the
floor, being nearly invisible on our tiles. She said you lost balance, fell on fours with the cup at your face. That should explain for the little bump on your nose where the sippy cup straw kissed. As if the colds today isn't enough right?
As I said yesterday, you had less of the necessary hours of your sleep, your immunity went down, welcoming this absurd cold, which you were supposed to be over since Daddy left it to you. I had to wake up early in the morning before watching over the cafe just so I could buy NASATAP. I'm not complaining about my duty but thanks to the darned cold, you had to stay home for rest when you could have gone to Carmen in the care of Mamala and Papalo. I made sure to prepare a hearty meal of chicken "shoop" as you demanded "soup" for dinner. I believe in the power of a warm broth against colds. Hopefully tomorrow, you won't have it anymore.
To assuage you from whatever tears, pain and troubles effected by that fall, I took out the deliciously chilled canned Strawberries for dessert. We all loved it! I had hoped to save some for tomorrow but it was too delicious and wasn't as sweet as the jar preserves - so we emptied the can before I can even think of what to have for tomorrow's healthy dessert. On my way home from the cafe, I passed by the DVD avenue and bought TOY Story 1 and 2, a review since we saw the third installment a couple of days ago and than PERCY JACKSON, which I wanted in DVD. Nahnang and I already saw it but I wanted to review it. I am just crazy about Egypt and Mythology both Egyptian and Greek, so you must know. The TOY STORY titles were child friendly as expected, Percy Jackson wasn't so but it wasn't that scary though you found the sound effects too effective that you hid yourself wedged in between my legs. You didn't complain for it to stop so we tried to get you through it. Actually, you fell asleep through it. Hah!
I am glad that you aren't as annoyed as I am with your colds. Aside from the poor appetite, you've been like the usual. Insisting to grab a piece of bread for yourself, posing for me with your new shirt on although quite disinterestedly and smile-less-ly. I just have this little concern with your mania. Daddy and I noticed this when you turned 18 months, your index finger, both left and right and sometimes even together, scrape the skin on the outer side of your thumb once they are in contact. You scrape it so bad, your skin would peel off. It started like that until today, it progressed to a contact with another hand, with mine. You would dig into the skin of my thumb is if it were yours and when that's not enough, you would dig inside my nails and you are quite partly conscious about it because your eyes seem to be elsewehere, like the TV. It's a concern because I've only know adults do that as a means of coping stress, like nail-biting. I do that, Nahnang has her means but - aren't you too young?
JAMantic of the Day:
The floor wasn't the only place you'd bless with water from your sippy cup, the table too. But perhaps understanding the dangers which may come from it, you grabbed a wet wipe from the pack, cleaned the table of water while saying "wipe". Good girl!
Your MAYmah,
