TO: The ANGEL in my Womb
We are the new occupants of the Master's Bedroom.
I'd like to apologize for the hiatus - I've been having problems sleeping at night and it's something that I can't do without while I have you in my body. It's rest and enough rest required to replenish my physical reserves so that you may enjoy whatever vitamins and nutrients you can take from me.
I'm pretty tired actually. I've not had the benefit of sleep in the afternoon - no siesta. Then the family came together after lunch prior to sending off your Uncle Raffy. And then on their departure, your Ninang Jai and I had to start cleaning the big room - a tasking chore which took us until the evening to finish; and then we had to resume after the Novena. My eyes feel rough against my lids and my body is tired and want nothing more than sleep but my brain is charging me to read the "Machiavelli Covenant" by Alan Folsom. I don't know the author, his delivery is quite mediocre so I don't find myself rushing it as I did Dan Brown's novels.
You've been kicking more often recently and it seems timely to certain instances when you'd had me wonder if or against or for whatever I was doing or thinking. Oh, I love you, little one! How less afraid I would be to sleep or stay up in the evening with you and your Daddy around - I can't wait for you to come out and join us in this exciting world!
Your Mamilou said you might get accustomed to rooms with airconditioning as I am now using the big room's AC unit. I just hope not because I surely will let you understand hardship as much as go through it - for it is in knowing hardship that we can fully appreciate what luxuries truly are.
You know, I am hungry right now.
I can't stop thinking of the rich dinner we; your Ninang, Mamilou and I have every night after Novena. The first three dinners were sponsored by Green Haven Vegetarian Garden, the next three days, which today was the last of, was spent for by Kagay-anon Seafood Restaurant and the last three days will be in Gloria Maris. I've had my first Gloria Maris experience in Manila in 2002 when I was still an Architecture student. The Philippine Institute of Architects invited me to host the Honorary Ball in EDSA Shangri-la Plaza; all expense-paid trip of course and what a gallant experience for a 20-year old!
I hope you will conquer what shores and land you may as you grow up, like your Father and I have. There's just so much excitement and pleasant anxiety in waiting for you - everyone is holding their breath, mine most of all.
My little Angel, a couple weeks more of wait and we will finally see each other via ULTRASOUND.
