DAY 271: October 10, 2010; SUNDAY

Dear Jam,

We had visitors today! Mamilou and Nahnang visited the pad after serving mass and brought cake, ice cream, and lots of food for us! This cake is the second part of that CONGRATULATION cake for Nahnang from Auntielou Ching. For you, Mamilou bought a nice pair of golden slip-on sandals. You wore them and posed with them in no time.

Before they came over, you and I practiced what would become our days alone when Daddy will be leaving. We did the chores together and you were Mommy's dear little helper. When there were chores that you couldn't participate in, I let you stay in bed and distracted you with that hypoallergenic makeup stick. You discovered how it
couldn't only be used on yourself but on your stuffed cats as well. We also practiced eating in a new table arrangement, where you take the seat Daddy usually occupies. I had to restrain you from going up and down the table and going anywhere else imaginable from the chair.

When Daddy came home, we watched NANNY McPHEE. We enjoyed it, watching the naughty kids turn into obedience and kindness, thanks to the magical Nanny. We had a great time until Daddy had to bring the pesky food that made your sleep a nightmare. We had a slight debacle whether you could have the torones de mani; it's something like the barquillos with crushed peanuts and polvoron in the middle. He said that he would only give you a couple of bites which made our night hellish. You were choking on your saliva and coughing your guts. I was scared, the first thing that hit me was anaphylactic shock due to food allergy. It took an hour or so before you could be pacified to sleep, so no, we didn't have a goodnight. Except for that little word that made me giggle inwardly, "hoo-bu" for "ubo" or "cough".

JAMantic of the Day:
1. While Mamilou and Nahnang were around, you learned a couple of words. "Skeem" for "ice cream" and "apas" for "agpas", Visayan for "hurry".

2. You were such a good girl to Mommy today, letting me know what may have been brewing in your stomach early in the morning. You said "Mama poopoo tah!" or "Mommy, I need to poo. Let's go to the bathroom." When we got there, your merely peed a bit and nothing else. But the effort to tell me so was very much appreciated.

Your, MAYmah,
